The airport is an attractive place with plenty of interesting things to see for visitors young and old. Zbraslavice public domestic airport naturally has its rules.

Despite what the name might suggest, the word “public” applies only to aircraft operations and their crews, not to pedestrian movement in operational areas.

During operating hours, the public has access to designated areas only. Entry to operational areas is permitted only when accompanied by or at the direction of persons responsible for airport operations. This applies not only to areas around buildings and hangars, but also to the airfield itself. If you want to see aircraft or equipment up close, ask the staff. If you’re interested in a group visit or guided tour (free of charge, naturally), arrange it by phone in advance.

The airport often hosts competitions and various aviation events when parts of the operational areas are opened to the public. Based on the number of people and their movement, an uninformed person might get the impression that it’s a completely open airport day… it’s not. The area designated for the public is always clearly marked. We organize discovery and photographic sightseeing flights for the public. A glider ride with us is especially nice. It just depends on the weather and your requirements.

A parking lot outside the airport grounds is designated for visitor vehicles. You can also drive further along the edge of the airport and park on the paved area by the windsock, which offers a good view of air traffic. Never drive into the airport grounds or onto the airfield! Keep things tidy, watch out for your safety, and follow instructions.
